EAT WELL
cooking classes

Our classes are great for:
  • up-skilling your budgeting and meal planning/meal prep know-how
  • building connections: all our classes offer an opportunity for hands-on collaboration with fellow participants, so you can reignite friendships and make new ones!
  • discovering new fruits, vegetables, and grains and growing the confidence to try them at home, too

We will host at least 36 cooking classes in 2026.

Currently, we are hosting multiple class series. Some classes cover tips and tricks to stretch a tightly budgeted pantry or make use of supplies that are affordable AND feel great to eat. We also host a plant-based series designed to help people learn new and surprising ways to incorporate more plants into their diet without getting repetitive. New in 2026 is our film series, which will feature dishes that star in films across the globe! The mission of the Eat Well program is, after all, to learn new food skills, meet our neighbors, and have fun.
Check out upcoming dates on our Calendar.
There are currently events scheduled through July, and more are being added all the time.

Will you join our local food skills movement?

Here's what our chef shared about the impact in 2025:

At more than 28 cooking classes out in the community, I had so much fun sharing foods I love. Rediscovering old recipes and getting back in the habit of cooking with a group of people after having left my professional cooking job before I moved to Grand Forks, feeding people well, and making new friends ... it really has been great, and in more ways than I can readily explain. So, thank you, all of you who attended.
Barb, who attended many of our demos last year, said:

I love all the activities at game night and the cooking demos, so I can’t think of a specific night that stands our more than the others. I get a sense of belonging from these events.
We know that the Eat Well program has made a difference in our community.

Culinary education, gardening education, and other food skills workshops we offer to the community for FREE are all designed to empower residents with the resources to experiment in the kitchen, explore new foods, and keep their households fed well.
You can support the Eat Well program with a monthly gift of $10 via cash, check, or online payment, which covers the cost of supplies for one class of up to 18 participants. Monthly support makes this program entirely possible, helping us to plan classes in advance and make a greater impact with our recipes. And you can get started growing your impact in kitchens throughout the community as soon as TODAY! Here's how
  • pledge a recurring commitment of $10 or more per month using our online tax-deductible donation portal with the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, and Region
  • share your best gift of grocery gift cards, in any amount (email us at [email protected] to arrange pick-up, drop-off, or transfer from your preferred e-store account)
Then, let us know how you want to be recognized for your contribution.

We are so pleased we can accept donations through the Community Foundation of Grand Forks East Grand Forks, and Region, our trusted fiscal sponsor. Through their 501(c)3 status (EIN:45-0448088), your gift furthers Live Well programs and is tax-deductible.
