As the price of gas continues to rise, so does the number of people who are choosing to ride their bikes. Riding a bicycle can save you money at the pump, but did you know it can save you money at your favorite local businesses too? Grand Forks has signed on to a nationally recognized program called, Bicycle Benefits, which rewards bicyclists with discounts and perks while encouraging them to support local businesses.
How does the program work? • Businesses offer a discount or perk to cyclists that bike to their business. • Community members pick up a Bicycle Benefits helmet sticker from a sticker hub location and place it on their helmets. Next, they bike to participating businesses to receive discounts or perks. • Don’t have a bike or live out of town? Purchase a sticker and use our local Grand Rides Bike Share program.
Where can I get a sticker? • Current sticker hub locations include Scheels, See Dick Run, and Ski & Bike Shop.
What businesses are participating? • Businesses are listed on the Live Well Grand Cities and the national Bicycle Benefits website. • Bicycle Benefit decals are also placed in the window of participating businesses. Current businesses participating locally include:
Urban Stampede
Tea & Crepes
See Dick Run
Kittsona
Grand Forks YMCA
Half Brothers Brewery
Archives Coffee House
Altru Alliance Gift Shop
Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea (both locations)
Ely's Ivy
